Degchi

A degchi is the most commonly used utensil in our Indian kitchens for the purpose of cooking liquidized dishes, rice, and milk-based dishes. Generally, it was invented in the ancient time of the Mughal empire of India.

The degchi is traditionally made of brass and copper but with time journey artisans made this pot in iron, clay, and steel.

The degchi’s neck is slightly narrower than its curved, thick base, making it a versatile pan for cooking sauces, gravies, and milk-based dishes. The wide-rim is used to lift or handle the utensil.

Degchi Candle Pot

Inspired by the shape of the Degchi utensil pot, our artisan created a pot in a wrought iron sheet with perforated artwork. Before 2018 this craft was used as a Tea-light candle holder. This was the first pattern of Degchi which was launched as a candle holder lantern. 

Degchi Dhoop Pot - First Pattern as an Incense Holder

In 2018 we invented our concept of Dhoop Incense holder with Degchi Pot. For Dhoop Holder this was the first design in iron craft with a combination of antique golden polish. In starting we designed this craft in the same shape and pattern as Degchi Candle Pot but we added little additional features with few improvements to complete the concepts of our Incense Holder Pot

Classic Degchi Dhoop Pot - Updated Version of Degchi Dhoop Pot

This is an updated design in the journey of Degchi Dhoop Pot which we launched in 2021. With time journey we improved our design and also added a few extra features in this craft like the quality of craft material, packaging, complementary dhoop sticks, and also a small surprise gift. 

ANKUD- Hanger

With the help of Ankud Hanger, we can use this pot as a wall decor piece. This Ankud is a fusion of iron and brass craft.

In the tribal region of Rajasthan, the word 'Ankud' means Hook. Inspired by Ankud our artisans created this wall hanger which is used to hang Lantern, hanging Diya, platform clock, bell, or any decorative hangings.

With every order, we add a few wet/dry dhoop sticks as a complimentary gift. These handmade dhoop sticks are made from natural and cruelty-free ingredients. the fragrance has a perfectly balanced natural aroma.  Take a minute by lighting incense sticks to relieve stress and anxiety and start your day with a positive vibe.

SAFE HANDLING INSTRUCTIONS

This craft is designed only for dry or wet dhoop incense sticks.  There are a few options In incense sticks, we can use dry sticks or wet sticks, incense cones, Smbrani cups.  Please do not use any hot coal or cow dung with Incense powder 

Care Instruction.

Please do not use any chemicals or water to clean this pot.  We can use any dry cotton cloth or tissue paper to clean the inside and outer surface area of the pot. By using wax on the outer surface of Pot we can add a little glossy shine. in this. 

Handcrafted in Rajasthan

This is handcrafted by the local artisans of the west region of Rajasthan. This craft is made out of the wrought iron sheet with a combination of metallic black, golden, and copper polish. With the fusion of these three color coatings, artisans add a little vintage and heritage finish to this.
