SURABHI- Mother of All Cows Kamadhenu also known as Surabhi, is a divine bovine-goddess described in Bhagwatam as the mother of all cows. As per Shrimad-Bhagwatam (8.8.1), Once the demigods and demons decided to churn the ocean of milk to extract heavenly nectar, which would free them from old age and death. In the course of the churning, many substances and objects were created - one of them the heavenly Surabhi cow, which can fulfill all of one's desires. |
Importance of Cow Cows and Krishna have always been together. When He descends to earth, Krishna brings a replica of Vrindavan with Him, and He spends His childhood tending cows and calves while playing in the pasturing grounds with His friends. His example shows the importance of cows to human society, the practical benefits of caring for them, and the advantages of an agrarian economy based on cooperation between man and cows. Our ancestors/sages realized the importance of Cow on a spiritual level, on maintaining environmental health, human health, and commercial benefits. |
Surabhi -A Mission to Help Innocents Gauvansh Generally, Cows and Bull are considered sacred in Sanatana Dharma, which is based on Vedic Philosophy. And our ancient research declares that human society can achieve extraordinary strength and a stable collective mind (physical and spiritual) by doing Gau (Cow) Seva. But with the time journey, people avoid cattle farming and they accept only female calves for Milk production. Once a cow grows old and stops giving milk, its owner disowns them because they are of no use to them. Thousands of such innocent cows are left on the street without a home. In India, there are many Gaushalas and Trusts who accept this kind of homeless and injured Gauvansh. We can also help them in their selfless services, which is a kind of Gou-Sewa (Holy Cow Worship). |
