Wall Decor Jaisalmeri Mehrab Diya Lantern

JAISALMER
Jaisalmer is also known as 'The Golden City' located in the heart of the Thar Desert of Rajasthan (the Great Indian Desert). The town stands on a ridge of yellowish sandstone and is crowned by the ancient Fort. This fort contains a royal palace and temples sculptured in sandstone.

MEHRAB
Mehrab or Arabic Mihrab means a niche in the wall of a mosque or a room in the mosque that indicates the direction of Mecca.
This is also a part of Islamic architecture. In every religion and culture, we can find many variations in this design.

Jaisalmeri Mehrab Lantern

Inspired by Mehrab's design and art of Jaisalmer our artisans created this beautiful lantern. Made out from a heavy wrought iron sheet, a golden polished lantern with an antique finish adds a heritage look to your decor.

With a combination of brass Diya, it always represents Sufi Orra of Jaisalmer culture we can also use a candle instead of a Diya lamp.

ANKUD

In the tribal region of Rajasthan, the word 'Ankud' means Hook. Inspired by Ankud our artisans created this wall hanger which is used to hang Lantern, hanging Diya, platform clock, bell, or any decorative hangings.

This antique golden finished Ankud is made of wrought iron with a combination of metallic black, copper, and brass color polish.

 The presence of this Ankud makes this craft a wall decor unit. 

Handcrafted in Rajasthan

This is handcrafted by the local artisans of the west region of Rajasthan. This craft is made out of the wrought iron sheet with a combination of metallic black, golden, and copper polish. With the fusion of these three color coatings, artisans add a little vintage and heritage finish to this.

Care & Handling Instruction.

For Lantern and Ankud- Hanger: Please do not use water or any chemical-based cleaner to clean the Ankud-Hanger. We can use any dry cotton cloth to clean the area of the hanger. By using wax polish on the outer area we can add a little glossy shine to this. 

For Brass Bells and Chain: Generally, we processed all brass craft with an antique finish with a minimal glossy shine. if you want a little more shine on brass bell and chain, you can use natural Tamarind, a Brasso liquid, or any Brass Metal Cleaner like Pitambari.
