Dwarpal- A Gatekeeper

Dwarpal is a Sanskrit name of a Gatekeeper also known as a Chowkidaar. The role of a gatekeeper is to control access to something. In Indian mythologies and ancient architecture, we can find Dwarpal figurines or paintings at the entrance door of the city, temples, and palaces. The pattern and costume of the Dwarpal depend on the local culture of that place.

Especially in the Mewar region of Rajasthan State, we can find Dwarpal art in painting formate on the wall near by entrance door.  

Mudran-Shaili

Mudran-Shaili is an artwork of Nathdwara in which the artisan uses printed stickers or posters or any photos on any other material's surface like wood, acrylic, or clay. Generally, this Shaili is famous for Spiritual frame design, decorative craft, and table decor. But here we use this craft with little modification. 

In this craft, we use Mudran Shaili only for Character which is placed on a hand-painted wooden board.

Reclaimed MDF Wooden Board

Generally, as raw material, our artisans use MDF Wooden sheets for this craft. MDF is made from resin and recycled wood fibers. It is pressed to produce dense sheets that remain stable in all weather conditions. The smooth surface makes it a good choice for simple interior design pieces and especially for painting artwork.

Care Instruction.

Please do not use any chemicals or water to clean this panel.  We can use any dry cotton cloth to clean the outer surface area of the panel. By using wax on the outer surface we can add a little glossy shine to this.
